2018 Competition Testimonials

Andrea and Amy:

‘The New Talent British International Youth Music competition 2018 was a great opportunity to take part in a music celebration with a wide variety of musicians from the United Kingdom and abroad.

The impressive and welcoming opening concert made my daughter feel at ease and she immediately felt relaxed and ready to partake in what was to be wonderful music making. It was very interesting to hear performances from the young musicians from abroad and exchange music experiences from different cultures.

The final concert was a real celebration of brilliant musicianship. We are already looking forward to next year’s competition.’

Ms. Ogden:

‘Last summer, my son Elliot Ogden took part in the New Talent British International Youth Music Competition in London, arranged by Amy Yuan.

I’d like to thank Amy for organising such a wonderful competition in a beautiful location. My son really enjoyed the event.

Listening to the concert on the opening day really put Elliot at ease, so he was not so stressed for the actual competition which occurred on the following day. He also made lots of new friends from different countries and it was a great experience for him. He was supported and reassured throughout the whole process and I could not ask for more. The competition judges were highly professional and their feedback was invaluable. As Elliot won one of the top prizes, he was awarded a beautiful plaque and also a free masterclass with one of the judges. Elliot loved the whole experience and often talks about it, including his wish to take part in next year’s competition.

The venue was unique, the organisation flawless and Amy is a true talent for organising such an event! Thank you and we hope to see you again soon. ‘

Hannah Hughes:

‘Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to perform in your International Music Competition. It was an amazing experience to meet and perform alongside people my age from around the world. As well as this, it was incredible to perform in front of such an amazing panel of judges. The opening concert really helped give me a feel for what the real competition was going to be like, as well as introducing me to the other people competing. I made friends along the way, who share my passion for music, and it was lovely to meet like minded people. Winning the virtuoso award was an honour and being able to have a singing lesson with professor Julie Kennard was an experience that I will never forget. The competition has given me so much more confidence and has inspired me to persevere with music and to try and take it further.

Thank you again,

Love Hannah.’

Salome:

‘I would like to heartily recommend the New Talent British International Youth Competition to anyone wishing to enter. My daughter was fortunate to play piano in the competition in 2018. We were very impressed by the excellent organisation and as well the high standard of playing of the competitors. It was a friendly atmosphere on the day and the feedback from the jury was very helpful. She gained confidence being one of the prize winners and the masterclass she had as one of her prizes was particularly beneficial. It was also wonderful to hear the prize winners in concert. Special thanks to Amy for all her hard work in making this happen. It is a unique competition and a great opportunity to meet other competitors from around the world and make music together. ‘

The Karlsson Family:

‘The New Talent British International Youth Music Competition 2018 was a wonderful experience for our family. The girls found it very beneficial to have the opportunity to perform in front of a jury of prominent teachers and musicians surrounded by proper and well-run competition arrangements, and they very much enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and the opportunity to meet young talented musicians from both Britain and China.’
